How To Make Money In The Metaverse Conclusion
What Is The Metaverse?
The term metaverse has been getting a lot of buzz lately.
- What does it mean? A metaverse is a network of online 3D virtual worlds that connects users through social interaction.
- How does it work? It uses a combination of virtual reality, video, augmented reality, blockchain, and other technology. It’s a virtual universe where you can go in through either your computer screen or VR headset and interact with people and things rendered into 3D worlds and simulations. The experience is similar to what you’ll find in games like Fortnite and Roblox.
- Where did the term metaverse come from? The term was coined from a science fiction novel called “Snow Crash” released in 1992 by author Neal Stephenson.
- Where is it going next? The metaverse will be the next big technology platform just like the internet was when it took off.
But the metaverse isn’t just an elaborate virtual social-connection experience.
The metaverse will be a second-life platform – meaning one that allows you to create an avatar for yourself in that world.
Most importantly, there will be money spent there. A massive amount of money. And that will create infinite opportunity to cash in as an early digital metaverse marketer.
Why Metaverse Marketing Is A Big Deal
For starters, the metaverse is expected to become an $800 billion market by 2024, and up to $30 trillion space within a decade.
Right now, the metaverse is a virtual blank slate for marketers.
It will open up new revenue streams and allow marketers to target their audience in an innovative way on an entirely new medium.
When the internet was born, the early adaptors who mastered internet marketing became millionaires very quickly.
I believe this opportunity offers the same possibilities. And I’m not alone.
Large companies that have already jumped into metaverse marketing include Disney, Nike, and Gucci. They are seeing high engagement and endless possibilities.
There are also heavy-hitter investors pouring millions into virtual properties, NFT’s, and stocks.
That’s OK, you don’t have to.
Below, I’ll show you how to make money in the metaverse without making any risky direct investments in it.
10 Ways To Make Money In The Metaverse
Since money-making opportunites with metaverse are still evolving, I don’t have all of the answers yet.
Nobody does.
But I have some ideas. I’ve listed these ideas below.
Just like everyone else, myself included, you’re going to have to do your own research and due diligence before you decide how to start blazing a new trail to big bucks in the metaverse.
One thing is certain.
Now is the time to get a head start on your competitors in the exciting new world of metaverse marketing.
Let’s start with NFT’s…
Buy Some Virtual Real Estate
First, You’ll Need A Crypto Wallet
Before you can open up an account on most metaverse platforms, you’ll first be asked to set up a crypto wallet to hold and secure your digital currency.
You can get a free crypto wallet at Paxful.
Once you have your free crypto wallet, you can buy real estate in The Sandbox.
The Sandbox
The Sandbox offers metaverse land for both individuals and institutions. You can invest in homes, commercial spaces, art galleries, sporting arenas, and hangout spots.
The Sandbox allows you to play, build, own & monetize your virtual experiences.
Now, it’s important for me to disclose to you that I am not a financial adviser.
Before you buy virtual real estate, I highly recommend that you to do your due diligence.
Like any other investment, there will be both winners and losers.
NFT's (Non-Fungible Tokens)
Without NFT’s, there would be no metaverse.
That’s because NFT’s allow digital assets to be assigned both value and most importantly – ownership.
An NFT, or non-fungible token, is a unique digital asset such as an art piece. But it can be anything digital including products, avatars, wearables, video games, and even buildings.
Basically, anything you can create on your computer can be uploaded into the metaverse.
If you want to check out some NFT’s visit Coinbase. Coinbase is a secure online platform for buying, selling, transferring, and storing all manners of cryptocurrency.
I used the art piece example because NFT art is already on fire. People are buying NTF art and reselling it for huge profits.
But you don’t need to be an accomplished artist to make money with NFT’s. All you need are some basic design skills that you can learn online and you can sell your NFT’s to others.
Trade Metaverse Tokens
If you prefer not to take the financial risk of buying virtual real estate, that’s OK.
You can trade metaverse tokens.
What is a metaverse token?
Quite simply, tokens are the currency used by people within the metaverse to make digital transactions.
Many of these tokens increase in value over time.
So where do you buy these tokens?
Go to over Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the real world.
Invest In The Metaverse Index
Metaverse Index is a basket of 15 different metaverse tokens.
It was created to capture the trend of entertainment, business, and sports as they shift into the virtual world of the metaverse.
To buy Metaverse Index, you’ll need to first have either Ethereum (ETH) or Bitcoin (BTC) for trading purposes.
Before you can open up an account on most metaverse platforms, you’ll first be asked to set up a crypto wallet to hold and secure your digital currency. The good news is that it’s free.
This will also help when the time comes to file your crypto tax return.
Help Build The Metaverse
There are tech firms that are hiring people right now to help construct the metaverse.
These companies include Amazon, Apple, Bitfury, FaceBook, Microsoft, Nike, KPMG, and Roblox.
You’ll have to explore these opportunities on your own.
Metaverse Affiliate Programs
Affiliate marketing is a performance-based online marketing model that allows you to earn commissions by promoting other companies products and services.
When a sale is made, the product owner delivers the order to the buyer then pays you a percentage of the profits.
What makes this money making model so awesome is that:
- You don’t have to create your own products or services
- You never have buy or store inventory
- You do not ship or deliver any goods
- You don’t perform customer service
The Sandbox sells virtual real estate. The Sandbox referral affiliate program pays you up to 10% of the sale.
VR Sync allows 360 degree playback to unlimited VR devices. The VR Sync affiliate program pays you 30% commissions on each sale.
GameStop sells consumer electronics including VR and gaming products. The GameStop affiliate program pays you 5% commissions on each sale.
VR Cover blocks moisture from sweat-inducing VR workouts. The VR Cover affiliate program pays you 11% commissions on each sale.
I anticipate the number of affiliate programs in the metaverse to grow slowly at first, then gain momentum.
I will keep this page segment updated as they emerge.
Advertise In The Metaverse
Here are 6 metaverse advertising models:
- AI-powered bots: This one will blow your mind. AI-powered 3D avatar-bots, fittingly called digital humans, will allow companies to create ‘virtual spokespeople’ in the metaverse.
- In-game branding: Some VR games are offering product placement opportunities within their game.
- Limited NFT editions: Some brands have already jumped on this opportunity including NBA Top Shot, Nike, Taco Bell, McDonalds, and Coca-Cola.
- Metaverse events sponsorship: Virtual concerts are already taking place in the metaverse. These create unlimited branding partnership opportunities.
- Virtual native ads: Native ads will allow for embedded campaigns and interactive experiences. One example is shoe company Vans, who created a virtual skatepark called “Vans World” in the metaverse that combines skateboarding, fashion and community.
- Virtual reality billboards: Billboards were one of the first elements of metaverse marketing and this trend will continue.
Play To Earn Games
Polygonum
Polygonum is a free, multi-player game with crypto, NFT marketplace and open world.
Rainmaker
Rainmaker allows you to win daily cash prizes playing an exciting realtime fantasy game.
Battles Of Guardians
Battles Of Guardians is a real-time, multi-player NFT fighting game .
Play-to-earn games allows you to make some money based on the amount of time that you play video games on these platforms. I don’t know much about how these games work or what catch, if any, is involved.
Metaverse Services
Metaverse services allow you to build a small business or side hustle. You can find or offer these services on platforms such as Fiverr.
Service ideas include things such as wearable assets, NFT’s, white papers, metaverse stories and worlds, and articles.
But that is only the beginning. The sky is really the limit for creative and skilled entrepreneurs who figure out how to market their services in the metaverse.
Open A Virtual Art Gallery
Art is going to be a primary component of the metaverse. And it will involve more than just NFT’s.
A virtual art gallery will allow you to display and sell your own art or the art pieces of others for a share of the commissions.
There will also be opportunities for marketers providing infrastructure for art galleries.
What About The Doubters?
Like every other new medium ever created, there are plenty of skeptics about the metaverse.
Much criticism revolves around Mark Zuckerberg’s involvement and motives.
Other concerns are about the very concept of a virtual world and its real-life implications.
Here is a recent collection of negative opinions I’ve run across:
- “Right now meta verse is dumb looking lol ill check back in 10 years.”
- “Metaverse doesn’t exist yet may never will yet they already are selling lands.
- “You are paying thousands to just be a part of a VR game.”
- “Trade real money for something that doesn’t exist except in computer memory. The metaverse is misnamed, should be called the moronverse.”
- “So your buying stuff which is not real? All while paying Zuckerberg for some pixels? Crazy.”
- “So when land to buy runs out, do these IT companies just………………write more land into the code to sell to foolish buyers?”
If you feel this way, that’s fine. I get it.
But I was also a professional marketer for a decade before the internet was born and remember the same kind of comments about that.
Many thought the internet was just a ‘fad’.
You can still earn money from it without directly investing in it or exposing yourself to high risk.
How To Make Money In The Metaverse Conclusion
It is a colossal project that is sure to have some twists and turns as it evolves.
For now, the metaverse is a virtual blank slate for marketers and were all at the starting line together.
Just like when the internet was born, there will be both winners and losers. Fortunes will be made and lost here.
Right now is the time to start jockeying for position with other early adopters to increase your chances of being one of the metaverse marketing winners.
One thing I know for sure…
Regardless of what you think about the metaverse, companies and investors are pouring ridiculous amounts of money into it so it’s going to be around for awhile.
Why not try to get a small piece of this trillion dollar pie? Expecially when you don’t have risk you own money to do so.
The truth is that in affiliate marketing it takes the same amount of time & energy to promote a product or service that pays you $500.00 than it does to promote a product that only pays you $29.00. Doesn’t it make sense to get paid more money for doing the same amount of work? Let me teach you how to sell high ticket products and services for high paying commissions.
