How To Become A Super Affiliate 

Mindset: In decision theory a mindset is a set of assumptions, methods, or notations held by one or more people (or groups of people) that is so established that it creates a powerful incentive within these people or groups to continue to adopt or accept prior behaviors, choices, and/or tools.

To make the big bucks as an affiliate marketer you must adopt the affiliate mindset used by the superstars in this field. Once mastered, your mindset will become unique to you but since success leaves clues you can model your methods, strategies, and behaviors after the super-affiliates who have already blazed a trail for you to follow. Don’t try to reinvent the wheel.

  1. Super-Affiliates Create And Follow A Plan
    This is by far the most important secret of all and it goes way beyond just affiliate marketing. Trust me I know since I completely screwed this one up myself when I first started my own business. It stunted my personal growth and income for at least a year or more. Don’t do that! SA’s (super-affiliates) have a long-term plan (year or more), short-term plan (monthly), and most importantly a daily plan to keep on track. I’ll have more on tracking later. They know what tasks, strategies, and activities they must do day to day to maximize campaigns and affiliate profits. They exercise daily discipline. They plan, prepare, time-block, and work fast.
  2. Super-Affiliates Run Their Business Like A Business
    If you want to do affiliate marketing part-time or as a 2nd job that’s fine but you will likely only make a small part-time income. If you want to get wealthy with affiliate marketing you must take it seriously, put in a ton of work, and run your business like the real business it is. You must think about affiliate marketing as a career and not just a hobby. I know several people who started out affiliate marketing part time and eventually were able to make it a full time career making big money. Once your income takes off (or just before) you’ll want to incorporate your business to take advantage of the tax benefits provided by this designation. (Mine is an S-Corp if you’re curious).
  3. Super-Affiliates Think And Market Creatively
    Most affiliate marketers fail right from the beginning by simply following the herd and copying somebody else’s strategies. This may earn you some money but you’ll likely never break through and become a highly paid super-affiliate. SA’s use creativity to develop their own twist, approach, and style to stand out from the crowd and dominate their niche. They create their own unique bonus offers and content that keeps their customers buying from them and coming back for more. SA’s are always listbuilding because they know this is the key to building long-term wealth.
  4. Super-Affiliates Test And Track Everything
    Affiliate marketing is a numbers game. You better learn how to test and track all of the key metrics of your campaigns including impressions, opt-in rates, earnings per click, click-through rates, reversal (cancellation) rates, return-on-investment, and attribution. SA’s track these key metrics, split-test their campaigns, and constantly tweak every element of their marketing to increase profits. Like Marcus Lemonis frequently says on his hit show The Profit “If you don’t know your numbers, you don’t know your business”. SA’s know their numbers; they have to.
  5. Super-Affiliates Provide Value By Giving First
    Invest your time an energy into providing high quality content and advice before asking for anything in return. After all, this is what SA’s do. They are not interested in one-time affiliate sales but the much more lucrative lifetime value each customer provides. SA’s are genuinely interested in solving their customers problems and it shows. They succeed in becoming the go-to-guy (or gal) in their niche.
  6. Super-Affiliates Maximize Their Offers
    In affiliate marketing, your income is directly related to the number of offers you put into the marketplace at any given time. SA’s know this and master the art of maximizing campaigns without going overboard and rubbing their customers the wrong way. You’ll learn this too with experience which is why it’s so important to provide as much free value up-front before asking for any money from your flock. Once a Super Affiliate makes a sale they’ll steer them into their customer funnel and up their sale ascension ladder to offer them more robust and expensive products. For example sell an ebook > offer an audio or video program > offer a seminar > offer one on one coaching > offer inner circle access. Each step give more value and asks for more money in return.    
  7. Super-Affiliates Know When To Cut Their Losses
    Some of your campaigns are going to suck. In fact, you may even lose some money on a few bad campaign. Hey it happens to everyone in internet marketing at some point. The Super Affiliate knows when it’s time to quit and move on to the next campaign. They likely have several other campaigns already running simultaneously that they can turn their attention to. By diligently testing and tracking SA’s know when it’s time to pull the plug and find money somewhere else. When you fail you’ll want to fail as fast as you possibly can so you can move on to greener pastures.
