The Role Color Plays In Branding

Many affiliate marketers make the mistake of overlooking the importance of branding.

Just because you run a small business doesn’t mean that branding isn’t important. Heck, all large companies were once small companies too so think of it that way.

When it comes to branding it’s not just a logo and tagline you should be thinking about it’s also the colors that best represent your company or business. Colors are important. They’re important for both online and brick and mortar businesses.

For my website, I chose primarily purple because it’s often associated with

  • ambition
  • creativity
  • devotion
  • dignity
  • extravagance
  • grandeur
  • independence
  • luxury
  • magic
  • mystery
  • nobility
  • peace
  • power
  • pride
  • royalty
  • wealth
  • wisdom

Targeting the high end of the affiliate market I found many of those adjectives perfect for what I was trying to convey on my site.

Have a look at this cool infographic below which explains some of the decision making that goes into branding color schemes. [hr]“Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the making of a brand or logo? One of the most important factors that companies and marketers consider while deciding on their brand is the color. Yes, color is such a powerful tool in designing a company’s brand name and logo. It can affect a brand in both positive and negative ways according to how you use it.

Colors have the power to influence customer’s emotions and perception towards a product or brand. Data shows that 73% of purchase decisions are made in-store, and color and aesthetics play a major role.”*
