12 Great Affiliate Marketing Tools For Beginners:
Websites & Hosting
The obvious place to start with essential affiliate marketing tools for beginners is with a simple website.
Now you don’t have to have your own website to make money with affiliate marketing. But I believe it’s the best method to get started because of what you’ll learn about internet marketing along the way. There are ways to make money with affiliate marketing without a website, but that’s not typically the approach we cover here.
1. WordPress Website Builder
When it come to beginner websites there are hundreds of options out there.
The reason I recommend WordPress is that I believe it’s by far the easiest website builder to learn – and when you’re new to this game, easy is good so you don’t waste time getting ‘stuck’ and frustrated right out of the gate.
WordPress is not only user-friendly for newbies, it automates one of the most important functions of your website: SEO. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the site structure and language that allows the various search engines (Google, Bing, and Yahoo) to understand what your site is about and index it properly to get you found by online searchers for your information.
With WordPress, even complete beginners can create a beautiful and professional-looking website in a short amount of time. The site you’re on now is a perfect example. I built this entire site myself without any technical experience whatsoever. I can teach you how too with this step-by-step affiliate website building tutorial.
The cost? WordPress is free but you’ll need a paid hosting account to get started the right way*. But don’t worry, a good hosting account is very affordable. More on that in a minute.
*There is a free self-hosted version of WordPress on wordpress.com but I recommend you avoid that version since there are serious limitations to it that will cause you headaches down the road if you want to scale your site out. As a general rule in this business, free versions of anything always come with compromises, consequences and limitations. Instead use wordpress.org which is designed for self-hosted websites and the type you’ll need to be building as a money-making affiliate. Use the tutorial linked above and I’ll make sure you get started the right way.
2. Bluehost Hosting
A hosting account represents the address of where you new WordPress site will ‘live’.
Bluehost is my favorite hosting choice for new affiliate marketers because, like the WordPress platform, it’s super easy to use. Thus, a perfect place for beginners to get started.
Bluehost is a solid company that has been hosting websites for more than sixteen years, is built on open-source technology and is one of the largest cloud-based online hosting platforms. Their customer service is helpful, knowledgeable and easy to reach – via live chat, email or phone.
3. Elegant Themes
Once you get WordPress, you’ll need to choose a WordPress template to use to start building your websites. When I first got started I made the mistake of going cheap and using free WordPress templates. Little did I know that by downloading a free theme I opened myself up to any malicious coding the template creator decided to put in there allowing them to offer if for ‘free’. If you pick the wrong one it can be an expensive ‘free’ lesson to learn.
You can pick any paid WordPress theme you like. There are endless paid theme services to choose from and prices are all over the board so shop around.
If you like the page design you’re looking at now, you can make similar pages without any experience using Elegant Divi/Extra Themes like I do. The video tutorials are second to none and will have you making professional looking pages and websites in a very short amount of time. It’s not the cheapest option but you get what you pay for and Elegant is the absolute best value out there.

It’s not just the money that email marketing brings in either. It’s the important fact that your private email list is one of the few elements of your online business that you’ll have absolute control over.
